SAUNA HOURGLASS
Sauna hourglass. The first clock in history was created by the ancient Egyptians, which was named clepsydra or water clock. Later, in the 2nd century AD, Middle Eastern scholars developed the sundial.
It is not known for certain where and how the hourglass was born, but evidence indicates that its origin dates back to the 7th century.
The hourglass is defined as a mechanical instrument used to measure time. Its operation is very simple, and only requires gravitational energy: it has two glass receptacles connected to each other, allowing the regulated flow of fine sand from the top to the bottom. In history, the hourglass was replaced by the wristwatch, and today it is only used in board games and in some kitchen timers.
The maximum recommended time to spend in a sauna is 15 minutes and in saunas we do not carry a watch or mobile phone, therefore, the use of an hourglass to be able to control the time is very necessary.
This hourglass is specially designed for use in saunas. It lasts 15 minutes, regulated every five minutes and is attached to the wall with screws and rotates. It is made of beech wood.
