Description

When designing our Antiquus stereoscope, we wanted to combine beauty, practicality and originality in a single object.

It is a case made of wood, beautifully decorated with art-deco motifs and very easy to use, just insert the pair of images into the slot provided for such use and by lightly swinging the cover carrying the magnifying glasses, obtain the appropriate focus for each vision.

THE IMAGES

On the other hand, the images to view are not any usual ones. On the contrary, we have created something unique so far and based on 10 masterpieces of painting of all time, we offer you their vision as the author saw or imagined the compositions, both in portraits and landscapes, of his own. plays.

And all this using a tremendously complex technique to obtain a shocking final result. Can you imagine seeing, for example, “las meninas” with all the depth that the genius of aerial perspective, Diego Velazquez, saw?

You will be able to see the following works:

From Velazquez: The aforementioned and “The Surrender of Breda” (The Spears)

From Rembrandt: “The Anatomy Lesson”

By Rubens: “Samson and Delilah”

By Hans Holbein: “The Ambassadors”

By Sandro Boticelli: “The Birth of Venus”

From John Constable: “Sallisbury Cathedral”

By Edgar Degas: “Ballet hall on rue Pelletier”

By Vincent Van Gogh: “The Starry Night”

From Henry Rousseau: “The Dream”

An extensive manual is provided with the stereoscope with reviews of each of these works, as well as the history of the stereoscope and some practical tips that will teach you how to take your own stereoscopic photos and view them with our instrument.

In addition to these masterpieces you will also be able to find 12 classic stereoscopic photographs from that time, some of which have been taken to stereoscopy for the first time following the same technique used for masterpieces of painting, for example those that reproduce scenes from classic cinema such as the famous scene in which we see Harold Lloyd clinging to the hands of a clock at the top of a building, avoiding falling into the void or that of King Kong at the top of the Empire State Building being attacked by a group of airplanes.

Others produce authentic vertigo in the viewer. Such as, for example, the famous scene of the workers taking a break and sitting calmly on the beam of a skyscraper under construction.

And some are simple scenes of everyday life: a Buddhist temple, a train, the Bedouins in the pyramids, etc.

Fabulous stereoscopes that you will enjoy in your free time, just like our grandparents and great-grandparents did back in the 1920s.
