WIND ROSE WATCH
Wind rose clock quartz pocket watch made of bronze, reproduction of the pocket watches used during the 19th and early 20th centuries. The dial is decorated with a classic compass rose, widely used in old cartography and nautical compass backgrounds.
THE ROSE OF THE WINDS
It is a circular graphic symbol that has marked around the directions in which the circumference of the horizon is divided.
It is used to represent geographic and cardinal directions on a compass or map, and it can also represent ocean currents, or even the position of stars and constellations.
Each point of the rose represents a cardinal or intermediate direction, such as north, south, east, west, northeast, northwest, southeast, and southwest. According to the “nautical dictionary” it also represents four lateral directions, eight collateral and 16 co-collateral.
The Compass Rose symbol is used on maps, compasses and other orientation devices to help people determine their location and the direction they are facing.
It is presented in a beautiful case that is very suitable to make a perfect gift and is accompanied by a small brochure in which a historical overview of the mechanical watch is given.
You have three modes of which you can view photographs in the “modalities” display.
