WOODEN TELEIDOSCOPE
Wooden teleidoscope. This type of kaleidoscope differs from traditional ones in that instead of having several small colored pieces, the image is obtained from the perceived and deformed reality through a glass sphere and reflected in the prism of mirrors that make up the main body of the kaleidoscope, obtaining as a result an infinity of images as we vary the focus of our vision.
A kaleidoscope (from the Greek kalós “beautiful”, eîdos “image” and skopéō “to observe”) or kaleidoscope1 is a tube containing three mirrors, which form a triangular prism with its reflective part towards the inside, at the end of which there are two translucent sheets between which there are several objects of different colors and shapes, whose images are multiplied symmetrically when the tube is turned while looking through the opposite end.
It is one of the best-known toys in the world and one of the most appreciated for its optical effect.
It is made of wood polished with natural waxes and is accompanied by a wooden base to be able to display it, presented in a tube-case and is accompanied by a small brochure with the history of the kaleidoscope.
